Glass etching for stunning new Glenmorangie bottling plant in West Lothian
October 06, 2011
With the tallest stills, the most advanced approach to extra-maturation and a commitment to only ever using their casks twice, you could say this whisky company are striving for one thing. Founded in 1843, Glenmorangie have been pursuing perfection - under the stewardship of two families and now Louis Vuitton Moet-Hennessy - for over 160 years.
In 2009 Glenmorangie launched a £45 million investment programme which included the building of a new bottling plant in Livingston. On September the 7th, 2011 it was officially opened by the Duke of York. During the official opening, Prince Andrew - who is a teetotaller - was presented with 270 bottles, which will go to his chosen charities for auction.
This project was taken to completion under the expert stewardship of James Barr, who approached us to format the artwork for a feature piece etched glass wall divider in the new plant. The artwork is based on the Cadboll Stone, an ancient Pict treasure with intricate, highly skilled carvings that sits in an open glade bordering the sea in the Highlands of Scotland. We were thrilled to be a part of this project, and look forward to a sumptuous amber glass or two from the new production facilities.
